Our mission statement is binding for all day-care facilities and the youth club. It provides the foundation for a broad range of education and care services aligned with current research and professional practice.
The mission statement for the 22 day-care facilities and the youth club of DeKiTa Municipal Enterprise was developed in line with current educational practice and is continuously updated as part of our quality development process.

Our staff see themselves as companions and supporters in children’s education and development. Our role is to help children develop independence, strengthen their skills, acquire knowledge, and foster their curiosity and creativity. Through targeted observation and documentation of each child’s development, we define individual educational goals for the next stage.
We provide children with spaces designed in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines. These spaces are safe, movement-friendly, durable, multifunctional and open to a wide range of experiences. They are shaped around the children’s interests and offer inspiration, stimulation and opportunities for discovery.

For us, respectful and appreciative cooperation with parents is essential to good educational work. We treat all parents with respect and consideration. We see parents as partners in education and development: they have known their children longer and from a different perspective. Our educators bring professional expertise in education and child development. They support parents with concerns, questions and parenting challenges as needed, either through counselling or by referring them to specialist services.
To strengthen parents’ confidence and involvement, we offer development meetings, parent meetings, information evenings, courses, parent support services and regular informal conversations during drop-off and pick-up times. Parent representatives on the parent committee represent the interests of all parents in the respective day-care facility.
Our day-care facilities are open all year round, except on public holidays, bridge days, agreed training days and between Christmas and New Year. During closure periods, we provide emergency care where required.

We understand education and learning as essential parts of a child’s personal development. We support children by offering a wide range of stimulating experiences that engage all the senses, while following a fundamentally child-centred approach.
Children experience diversity through a rich and varied everyday routine. They take part in different activities, have many opportunities to communicate with other children, and are also given time and space to be among themselves.
The health and well-being of every child are at the heart of everything we do. We give children the freedom to develop their own personalities, because we accept each child as they are. Our home-group system gives children orientation, security and a sense of belonging, even within our semi-open and situational approach.
Rituale bzw.
Children can choose from nine educational areas, where they take part in specific activities and learning opportunities guided by reliable and qualified educators.

We see every child as a unique individual and support them on their path towards independence. In our facilities, we make room for individuality and design living and learning spaces around the children’s needs. For us, inclusion means that everyone learns, plays and lives together from the very beginning. This also means identifying and removing barriers that may limit or prevent participation.
To make this possible, we create spaces and opportunities for participation that reflect real diversity and allow every child’s strengths and resources to be recognised and developed. We see diversity as natural and valuable, so that simply being side by side can grow into genuine togetherness.

All staff members are responsible for maintaining quality, implementing agreed quality standards and contributing to the ongoing development of our quality management handbooks through suggestions for improvement. Annual review questions are also included as part of this process. Our dedicated and well-trained employees take part in continuous professional development.
We work together in teams based on trust, cooperation and mutual respect. For us, teamwork is essential to achieving the best possible quality in our educational work.
In addition to their educational responsibilities, all staff members contribute to cross-facility expert groups, including meetings with educational management and participation in quality circles.

We see exchange and cooperation with institutions and network partners as an integral part of our daily work. These partnerships support us in achieving our goals and fulfilling our responsibilities.
Our day-care facilities coordinate cooperation with both internal and external service providers. In management meetings, overarching issues, concerns and requirements are discussed with the managing director, educational management and other senior staff.
In our public communication, we present our facilities as part of the City of Dessau-Roßlau.
