Growing together — Living together!

Playing, learning, and living together — for children with and without special needs — are important learning experiences. All children in our facility experience education, upbringing and care in equal measure, tailored to the individual needs of each child.

At “Nesthäkchen,” children are cared for from infancy to school entry in mixed-age groups and supported according to their stage of development. Our modern, well-equipped building is structured on two levels. An open facility with various functional rooms offers our children a wide range of opportunities for holistic learning, both in the nursery and the kindergarten. This means that our children do not only play and learn in their home groups. They also have the opportunity to visit other groups and pursue their interests there. Characteristic of our facility is that the open group work already begins at the nursery age.

Our facility therefore includes, for example, movement rooms designed according to “Pikler” and “Hengstenberg,” learning and creative areas, construction rooms, children’s workshops, experimentation corners and also areas for music and language education. The educational programme “Bildung Elementar” (Elementary Education) is the foundation of our daily work. We understand children as active learners. Our educational team are trained, experienced partners and companions of the children as they learn to understand and explore the world.

Our spacious outdoor area with lots of greenery and large shade-giving trees offers our children the best conditions for living out their natural natural need for movement. Here children find a swing and a willow house as well as a sledding hill and a climbing corner. Our small woodland invites hide-and-seek play and is very popular with all children.
